03 Concept, scope and quotation
We develop the proposed scope and put a price to it — what's being built, what's included, and what still needs confirming.

Read the scope, inclusions and exclusions rather than comparing on price alone. Two outdoor areas that look alike can need entirely different structural, approval and construction solutions.
04 Acceptance, contract and deposit
When you decide to proceed, the proposal and scope are formally accepted, the contract is signed and the deposit paid.

The project is not ready to build the moment a quote is accepted. Detailed design, approvals, selections, check measure, procurement and scheduling all still come first.
05 Detailed design, drafting and engineering
The concept becomes a buildable roof. On an opening roof this is where the mechanical decisions are locked in.

06 Planning and council approval
Some projects proceed without a formal development approval. Others need planning consent, building rules consent, or both.

We guide and coordinate the approval process, but the decisions and the assessment timeframes belong to the authorities. Construction can't be scheduled as though approval is guaranteed.
07 Colours, materials and final selections
Before anything can be ordered, your selections need to be locked in.

Colours read differently across samples, screens, photographs and finished materials — use physical samples where we can supply them. Late selections delay drafting, procurement, powder coating and construction.
08 Final check measure
Before the louvres and frame are fabricated, a site supervisor measures the actual site. Louvre banks are cut to the opening, so this measurement governs.

An opening roof cannot be trimmed on site the way a fixed roof can. The check measure is what stops a fabrication error becoming a re-order.
09 Documentation and material ordering
The project is prepared for procurement — the least visible stage, and one of the most important.

10 Construction scheduling
Once approvals, documentation and critical materials are far enough along, the project moves into the construction program.

An estimated construction period may be discussed earlier, but a firm start date depends on approvals, selections, material readiness and the program. Weather and unexpected site conditions affect outdoor work.
11 Preparing the property
A short list of things we'll ask you to do before the crew arrives.
- Clear access to the work area
- Move vehicles, furniture, pots and personal items
- Protect or remove fragile items
- Provide access to power and water
- Make arrangements for pets
- Tell us about alarms, gates or access procedures
- Keep children and other occupants clear of the work area
- Confirm any known underground services
We work to minimise disruption, but expect some noise, dust and deliveries — the site stays an active construction area until the work is finished.
12 Construction and installation
Building begins, in accordance with the approved scope and documentation.

Not every condition can be seen before construction starts. Hidden building conditions, undocumented services or requested changes may need discussion. Work outside the accepted scope is documented and approved as a variation first — except where immediate action is needed to make the site safe.
13 Quality review and practical completion
As the work approaches completion, the project is reviewed and tested with you.

14 Handover, final account and aftercare
You receive the operating information, warranties and care instructions, and the final account is issued per the contract.

Outdoor structures and mechanical systems need reasonable care. Keep gutters and drainage paths clear, operate moving parts as instructed, and report any developing issue before it causes further damage.

before they start.
What happens when it rains?
The roof is sealed against rain when the louvres are shut, and an automatic rain sensor will close it for you. You do not have to be home.
What is covered by the warranty?
Ten years on the louvres, pivot pins and mounting tracks. Two years replacement on the motors and control drives, covering both materials and labour. The system is aluminium and stainless steel, manufactured to the relevant Australian Standards.
How long will my project take?
It depends on scope, design requirements, approvals, selections, supplier lead times and the construction program. We'll give you guidance as the project progresses, but an installation date generally can't be confirmed until approvals and materials are far enough along.
Do I need council approval?
Not every project does. It depends on the property, the structure, the location and the proposed work. We'll advise whether an approval pathway looks necessary and what documentation would be required.
Is the first site measurement the final measurement?
Not necessarily. Initial measurements are usually used to prepare the concept and quotation. A detailed check measure is normally completed before key materials are ordered or fabricated.
Can I make changes after accepting the quote?
Often, yes — but changes can affect price, drawings, engineering, approvals, ordering and timing. Raise them as early as you can; they need to be documented before they're incorporated.
When do I choose my colours?
Selections usually happen after acceptance, and must be finalised before the relevant items are ordered or powder coated. We'll tell you which selections are needed and when.
What happens if something unexpected is found during construction?
We assess the condition and explain the impact on the work. Where additional work outside the accepted scope is required, it's generally documented as a variation for your approval.
Will you organise the other trades?
Coordination responsibilities are set out in the quotation and contract. We may coordinate the trades included in our scope, while customer-appointed or excluded works remain your responsibility.
What do I need to do before installation?
Generally: provide clear site access, remove furniture and belongings from the work area, secure pets, and tell us about any access restrictions or known site services.
